ELA HOMEWORK:
Every night your student is expected to read for 20 minutes. This reading could be individual silent reading or reading together with family. Reading is the gateway to learning, opening doors to faraway adventures, new possibilities and promising futures. Without strong reading skills, children will face a host of difficult challenges throughout their lives. That’s why we know that reading matters. Please facilitate a reading environment for your student at home. Students will be using a program called Scholastic Reading Counts that can help track books students are reading and help check their comprehension. Scholastic Reading Counts awards points to students for completing a book and Reading Counts quiz. These points will be used to calculate reading awards for the students. READ READ READ!
